March 2026 PLUNKY ON DEMAND Launches - LEARN MORE

Updated: Mar 5

Plunky On Demand officially launches in March as a unified platform for culture, plus Plunky's educational and creative work. This is a long term project designed to bring together music, film, writing, and learning into one connected network built to grow over time through a steady release of content, old and new.

At launch, Plunky On Demand will roll out with three core services, each serving a different way of engaging with the platform.

BLACK MUSIC STUDY (Education)

Black Music Study is the education leg of Plunky On Demand. It offers structured courses, lectures, study guides, and reference materials designed for individuals, classrooms, and institutions. The first release is The History of Black Music, built from decades of Plunky’s teaching and lived experience.

Black Music Study also includes a dedicated Research Engine that allows learners to explore books, recordings, cultural references, and supporting materials connected to the course before completing the final assessment. This research tool encourages deeper exploration and independent discovery alongside the structured lessons.

Over time, Black Music Study will expand through a steady release of new courses, educational materials, and additional research resources.

N.A.M.E. BRAND MUSIC (Music and Audio Programming)

N.A.M.E. Brand Music is the audio and music wing of the platform. It includes curated music, DJ mixes, albums, conversations, and sound based programming available to subscribers. This channel centers Black music as a living continuum, with releases that span history, contemporary work, and future facing experiments.

The catalog currently includes sixteen albums from Plunky and the Oneness of Juju, presented in a clean player designed for both mobile and desktop listening. N.A.M.E. Brand Music will continue to grow through music releases, curated listening experiences, and original audio programming.

N.A.M.E. BRAND VIDEOS (Film and Visual Programming)

N.A.M.E. Brand Videos is the visual media wing of the platform. It includes documentaries, video series, performances, conversations, concerts, music videos, and visual storytelling.

This space is dedicated to film and moving image as cultural record, offering both long form features and shorter visual works that expand the archive and deepen the context around the music and ideas shared across the platform.

ONE MAG (The Connective Tissue)

ONE MAG supports and connects all three services. It features a mix of free and gated editorial content across education, sound, and visual media. This includes essays, articles, reflections, interviews, and cultural commentary.

The magazine functions as the written archive of the platform, providing context, documentation, and ongoing dialogue that ties Black Music Study, N.A.M.E. Brand Music, and N.A.M.E. Brand Videos together into one living ecosystem.

ONE MAG also hosts a public Research Engine that allows visitors to explore Plunky’s broader body of work, including literature, recordings, historical references, and cultural materials connected to the archive.
