Richmond, Virginia - N.A.M.E. BRAND RECORDS proudly announces the appointment of Rasul Elder as its new Director of Digital Strategy, Product Development & Community Engagement.
In this role, Elder will lead the vision, development, and ongoing growth of the label’s digital ecosystem, helping shape how N.A.M.E. BRAND RECORDS connects its music, stories, artists, and audience across the web.

Appointed by President J. Plunky Branch, Elder’s appointment marks an important step in the continued evolution of N.A.M.E. BRAND RECORDS’ digital presence. His work will span platform development, editorial
direction, content strategy, and audience
engagement - bringing together technology, culture, and community in service of the label’s long-term vision.
“Rasul brings a rare combination of technical skill, creative thinking, and cultural understanding,” said Branch. “He knows how to build platforms that do more than function.

They communicate, connect, and create room for people to engage with the work in a deeper way. That is central to where we are headed.”
In this position, Elder will be responsible for developing and managing key parts of the N.A.M.E. BRAND RECORDS digital infrastructure, including:
Leading digital strategy across the label’s online platforms
Designing, building, and maintaining digital products and experiences
Guiding editorial direction and content strategy for the N.A.M.E. BRAND online magazine
Creating meaningful engagement opportunities for fans, artists, and creative collaborators
Expanding the label’s digital footprint through interactive media, storytelling, and community-centered design
Elder’s role reflects a cross-disciplinary approach that combines product development with editorial leadership and community building. By uniting those areas, he will help ensure that N.A.M.E. BRAND RECORDS’ digital presence is not only functional, but alive with context, identity, and participation.

“I see this as more than a position,” said Elder. “It is an opportunity to help build the digital framework for a living cultural space. N.A.M.E. BRAND RECORDS has legacy, vision, and voice. My goal is to help shape the platforms, stories, and engagement experiences that allow that voice to grow in real time with the people it reaches.”
