For over forty years, Plunky has carried this work into classrooms, colleges, community centers, and wherever people were willing to sit down and really listen. Not just dates and names, but context. Not just genres, but the conditions that gave them breath. That kind of teaching lives in rooms. It lives in conversation. It lives in the energy between people.
Until now, a lot of that work existed in moments.

Over the past year, Plunky and I have been shaping those decades of lectures, stories, research, and lived experience into something that can travel. Not a one off video. Not a clip for the timeline. A real class built with intention.
The History of Black Music: A Living Continuum is the first course in what we are building as the education leg of Plunky On Demand. It comes with structured lectures, study guides, and reference reading so people can go deeper than surface level takes and actually sit with the material.
This is about translation. Taking forty years of teaching that happened in rooms and making it accessible beyond any single room.
We are doing this in phases on purpose. The full Plunky On Demand platform launches in March as a living platform for music, film, writing, and education. But in February, we are opening early access to the education leg through The History of Black Music: A Living Continuum. This is the beginning of a growing archive that will continue to expand with new courses.

It is a drip. Courses and materials will roll out over time, building a connected archive you can return to, teach from, and grow with.
If you are an individual, this course is a self paced journey through the continuum of Black music, rooted in history, shaped by lived experience, and designed to provoke real reflection.
Early Access: BLACK MUSIC STUDY Is Available Now
Ahead of the full March launch, we’re opening early access to BLACK MUSIC STUDY, the education leg of PLUNKY ON DEMAND. This allows early supporters to explore the platform, enroll in the first course, and help shape how the system evolves before the public rollout.
