Saw you at VSU's Homecoming; thought you were great. Do you have plans to perform in the Philadelphia area?
On: November 24, 2009 @01:11 pm
Plunky, I saw you on the jazz cruise in October 2009 and you were off the chain. I came up to you and told you that you pumped us all up but then we had no where to go afterwards! (lol) I enjoyed your energy and you could have played for another hour and we all would have stayed and jammed right along with you. In your blog you mentioned people remembering you for a short moment but that is far from the truth.
When I went on last year's jazz cruise in 2008 I was at the bar outside and we were discussing the artists that had performed so far on that cruise. Someone mentioned your name and said you were on the first jazz cruise in 2007 and that they should have had you on the 2008 jazz cruise. They said you truly bring some funky jazz to the scene and everyone else around agreed and spoke so highly of you. I'm sure that you were recommended on last year's after cruise survey when they asked who would you like to see on the 2009 jazz cruise.
So I was glad to hear you for the first time and can agree with them. No doubt you'll be asked to come back for next year's jazz cruise in October and I'll definitely see you there. Just promise you'll play longer!
May you have many more engagements to play, get paid well, and blessings to you and your band! See you in October 2010 but I'm sure before then!

Plunky, you now have 3 generations of fans in the Henry Family! My Mom saw you at Fridays at Sunset in July 2006, and had bought "Cold Heat" there, and was raving that "Drop" was her favorite; and, she has been excited to hear Michael Baisden playing it within the past year. My 5-year old son and I went, with friends, to see you last night at Dogwood Dell in Richmond, VA. He was one of the two little boys, who were dancing--that you said you wanted folks to dance like, after the break. After the show, he had a comment, which I'm going to post separately. Thank you for a nice evening...Janelle

It is a wonder and a joy to discover an artist keeping it real, fresh, current, and with musical ties to so many people, places and things as you, Plunky!! I can't stop turning folks on to your sound and history no matter where I go.! Artistically, I am not sure whether you are better off "under the radar" - so to speak and maintaining the level of creativity and uniqueness you possess, or for us musicoligists to wonder with awe at what may happen when the mainstream world gets the exposure to your music it longs for and deserves. Keep on doing what you're doing, I for one will be here always to enjoy and share!!

Plunky Drop is awesome; it's a very funky jazzy soulful smooth groove; it's a groove that only grown folks can dig; it's got that uptown & downtown beat, a funky jam that makes you jump to your feet, it's got an old school flavor that will never be beat... a hot jam that's played over across one hundred and tenth street. Drop is here to stay. Plunky & Oneness where've you been man??? We're jazzy down South in Florida when are you guys coming down???

Greeting Plunky:
I just wanted you to know that your music is still the bomb! This is Linda one of the infamous twins. You know Linda and Lisa of Richmond. Well, I have moved to Baltimore Maryland about two months ago. I had a chance to see you at the Carter Barron Ampitheater but did not get a chance to speak to you. You guys gave a great performance. My significant other had not heard of the band before nor the music, but you best believe it he now knows. Keep doing what you are doing. Take care and God Bless you and your family. Tell Cookie I said hello.

Happy to know you are back on home ground.Looking forward to hearing your soul stirring sounds in the near future. Plunky&Oneness gives me the feeling of the days when we as a people could come together and be happy in our blackness, our music, and our togetherness. Continue to create that feeling! God's blessings on you and yours.

Miss your band. I am in the DC, Maryland area and would love to know when you will be appearing here. Do you know Walter Bell?

What an amazing diary of your Paris trip. It was almost like I was there with you (or a lot of wishful thinking). When I grow up I want to be just like you.
I enjoyed your show at Wallops Flight Facility. Would like to talk with you about what it would take to get you here in Greenbelt, Maryland.
My five year old who accompanied me still talks about the music and will certainly be a presence at the show.

Dr. Plunkenstein,
Enjoyed...was delighted...by your diary of the Paris 2006 trip. Thanks for taking us there and p-l-e-a-s-e don't give up!! As Marley sang "Get up; stand up, stand up for your rights". Our people died for such an experience.
As long as you have the ability, we need you out there. It is a cold world sometimes; makes us a little weary, but I believe there is a Higher Power and it operates through the creativity of Plunky & Oneness to help "us" move forward.
Richmond is happy to have you all back home safely. God does answer prayers! I pray that he takes you to that higher ground (exposure); but promise you will never forget home.

Awesome site. I've been a fan since the late 70's.
Fun, funky, jazzy, intelligent - the unexpected movements (blends) from song to song. Well, I could go on and on attempting to describe the naturally inspired high last night (2/24/06) at Cafe @ 297 (Richmond, VA).
Thanks for the journey and for sharing your God given talents no matter the location or size of your audience...you "never" let us down.
Look forward to seeing you perform again.
Richmond is blessed to be able to claim you as our own.
God-speed!

My family and I were fortunate enough to catch your concert at Dogwood Dell on July 2, 2005. It was wonderful. The weather was nice and the music was great.
